Unit Mission and Intent
The mission of the NAACP Youth & College Division shall be to inform youth of the problems affecting African Americans and other racial and ethnic minorities; to advance the economic, educational, social, and political status of African Americans and other racial and ethnic minorities and their harmonious cooperation with other peoples; to stimulate an appreciation of the African Diaspora and other people of color’s contribution to civilization; and to develop an intelligent, militant, effective, and empowered youth leadership.
The intent of the NAACP Chapter at Texas Tech University is to educate, uplift, and unify the students of Texas Tech University, through various programs, service projects, and positive affairs. We aim to equip students with the necessary skills to survive and flourish as young professionals, as well as develop into effective and positive leaders of tomorrow.
We are "The LARGEST and the OLDEST, The BADDEST and the BOLDEST, The MOST LOVED and the MOST HATED, The MOST FEARED and REVERED, The MOST CUSSED and DISCUSSED" Civil Rights Organization in America!
